Iceland represents a unique opportunity to study large-volume basaltic deposits and processes. This research school focused on the understanding of volcanic rifted margins by a combination of lectures and field observations during a nine-day excursion in eastern and southern Iceland. The course have a special attention on how the geology of Iceland can be used to understand the Vøring and Møre volcanic rifted margins, recently drilled by IODP Expedition 396.
